Question Swapping in factory 4.88's and have a few questions.

I am almost ready to purchase a set of factory 4.88's out of a 1995 4runner from a friend of mine and had a question. My truck does not have ADD and this diff is obviously set up for it. Yes i have already searched and have come up with the simple solution of "all you have to do is swap out the long axle tube from your current front differential"

Is the area in red the only part i need to swap out to get rid of the ADD? If so, are there any problems you had or tricks to do so?

Thanks.

haha. I feel really stupid. I just bought a rear 4.88 third and had ABS in my head for some reason. :/ I edited it now though so it actually makes sense.

I'd probably just put it in like it is except with the ADD actuator permanently locked as decribed in the 4x4wire writeup below.

Just put it in permanently locked, that what I did with mine, swappin tubes is not as easy as it sounds there's more to it than that.

The idea of the writeup that was suggested makes sense to me except for the fact where it says, "The key to guaranteeing the fork will never move is to place a hose clamp or CV boot clamp around the rod the fork slides on..." Am i putting the clamp where it is circled in red?

I didn't put a clamp there, but I'm pretty sure that's where they're talking about. Mine has held up just fine.
