last night while i was wheeling i noticed that the high beams wouldnt go off even when i had the truck off. so now when i turn off the truck, i have to unhook the battery. you guys think its a bad switch or a bad connection, i have no clue how that switch works. any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

It may be the switch but it may also be the headlight relay. The relay is much easier and cheaper to replace and test so look under the hood on the passenger fender for the fuse block. The cover has a diagram that shows the headlight relay. Try tapping on the relay with a wrench and see if it's stuck. Next pull the relay out and test it. If the relay test good, get out the wiring diagram and test the turn signal/light switch. Good luck and I hope you only have to change the relay.

 

i see the high beam light thing on the dash and the lights are on. the turn signals work, the switch to turn the lights on work. but the lights wont completly turn off

 

to test the relay do you stick 12v to it

 

i tapped the relay and nothing channged. if anyone knows anything about this kind of stuff please help
