Junkyard door prices?

Was I wrong to laugh? I was at the local junkyard looking for some doors so I could fab up some halfdoors for the summer and doors with no glass or interior pieces, the yard wanted $75 apiece!!?? I couldn't help it, I blurted out a laugh and asked him if he thought they were made of gold? He stated yep, just about, so I walked out. What do you guys think a set of doors should run? I can get tube doors starting at $200 on up to $250 and someone else does all the work, or $150 for junkyard doors and I do all the work. I'm thinkin cruise Craigslist for doors until I find a set.

I was thinking about doing the same and they told me $300 a door and that was for a damaged one. Although it is for a 3rd gen... I laughed and decided to do tube doors.

Personally i like the tube doors much better. I can't wait to build a set for mine. I do understand the cost aspect though.

By the way, your 3rd gen is sick cubuff!

$30 each @ the u-pull it yards here. No idea at a normal junkyard.

The only door I ever bought from a wrecker was 100 (parts guy was out of town, and I needed it so I could lock my truck up at school). The parts search thing brings back 100-200 a door for an 85 at yards that they're already pulled, but I've heard as cheap as 30 at one yard around here.

It's a pick-n-pull type yard, I'm going to check a few more yards tomorrow, one down in Tacoma and another one here in Bremerton. I'd like to make my own instead of buying tube doors.

i like where your going with this.

things roll out of your truck with tube doors.
