Harmonic balancer seating correctly?

1993 pickup 4x4 22re 104k miles -
I think I'm psyching myself out here but.... I'm buttoning up my engine after replacing timing chain/sprockets/guides/tensioner/cover, water pump, and oil pump. Things seem to have gone well. When i seated the harmonic balancer back on the crankshaft and torqued to 116 ft lbs I'm concerned the harmonic balancer isn't seating correctly. What makes me think this is when I look behind the balancer i.e. between the back edge of the pulley and the front of the oil pump I see about 1/4" of the pulley protruding from the oil pump seal. The 1/4" portion of the pulley is shiney metal not dirty - making me think that originally it seated deeper on the shaft and was worn shiney by the contact with the seal. When I remove the crank bolt, the tip of the crank shaft is about 1/4" recessed from the face of the pulley. I'm confident that I put the new timing sprocket on the crankshaft correctly as well as the splined oil pump collar. The truck was originally and is currently a single row timing chain set up. Any advice/pictures would be much appreciated. All the parts I got are from engnbldr which I'm very pleased with.
Thanks in advance.
