im about to get a 1990 4runner 2 door and have heard that they are rare but how rare? who else has one?

ive actually only seen one....in a photo....lol

 

was it a second gen? from 1990-1993 i think they only made a very small amount of them. i think most 1st gens were 2 doors

 

depending on the year, yes its rare. ive seen ONE in person. lets put it this way: ive seen more deloreans in person (have driven a few also) than ive seen 2 door runners.

 

waskillwabbit has a 2 door 2nd gen.

 

the one im getting is a 1990 SR5, 5 speed manual, 3.0L, dark green, gray interior, very clean, 200k miles, new transmission with 100 miles on it, new tires, and an aftermarket audio system. im getting it from a friend who doesnt need it anymore and im looking at about $1500... nothing on the car is wrong with it, i drove it and it runs really good and has an aftermarket exhaust system as well

 

an has all power options as well... sunroof, windows, locks, steering, brakes etc.

 

Yep, sure do. Black with grey interior. Going to work on the 3.4 swap in the next week or two when I get some shop space for it.

They're pretty cool because they're rare....but I can't see an up side to having one.....

i don't know if ive seen one in person, but i have seen a few of them on local craigslist ads

 

they honestly just look hella cool and stand out from everyone else

 

lol. all 1st gens were 2 door.

 

I picked it up for cheap and the 3.4 was free, so I have nothing in the whole thing except what it costs me to get it in decent shape. Hard to beat almost free reliable transportation that is "cool" to boot.

 

Can't complain about that but I've said it before and I'll say it again. I like my runners like I like my women...... topless.

my dad has one. its a 1990 burgandy 3.0L, auto (only downfall). it has 195k on it.
