Angry Help fight some SUV/Truck bashing on Car Talk site

:pat:

The Car Talk Communists are sticking their noses into everyone elses business with their anti-SUV campaign.

What is worse are all the dopes who would take it much further.

http://cartalk.cars.com/board/postli...at=&Board=LLDS

Please state your opinions at that link, it is running 80%+ opposed to SUVs right now.

thanks

A lot of flames going on in that thread....I only read the first few pages and none of it was very constructive....some pretty 'powerful' statements there that aren't backed by any facts...

Reading a couple of posts it sounds like they are talkin about the soccer mom's that can't drive 'em. I agree, if you can't drive a truck or SUV, then PLEASE DON"T.

for me at least, i always see some dumbass girl small as hell, yet driving a big Suburban or Expedition and then running over everything in it's way (or at least running into everything...hehe).

But dude, no way, I have always been a truck/SUV person and for someone to take that joy away, you would have to pry the keys off my dead cold fingers! I mean the first time I learned how to drive was on my old 4Runner. I would buy a truck or SUV before I would buy a sports car or just even a car. SInce I got one, now I can look for such...hehe.

I couldn't agree more. I started reading some of their posts, thought about replying for a fraction of a second, but then lost interest. I think I saw some lint on my shirt that caught my attention.

Seriously though, it doesn't matter. I'm not going to run out & sell the best vehicle I've ever owned because some people I've never met, whose opinions I do not value, think it's a fad. Leave them be, everyone is entitled to their own opinion...I know I couldn't be happier with my 'still purchasing' though. Well, actually I could be happier if it cost me less $$$ heh.

GEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After reading some of that crap you wonder how much they really know
about cars if they are only concerned
about the outside and how they look.

I JUST HATE STUPID PEOPLE. No point to argue with those "No-sense" people who think Huyndai is the best car here.

Angry

 Allright there is just no need to post that and make us all angry and defensive on a perfectly good Friday. I read that stuff and hear it all the time and while usually it gets me so spiteful I could P!SS VINEGAR I just smile and rejoice in the fact that everytime I pull up behind one of those little cute Hondas, with the megaphone exhaust and some kid who gets his kicks out of racing a UTILITY vehicle, I get to watche them flip their mirrors cuz my headlights are right about at the level where it not only annoys them but reminds them that an itchy accelerator foot could place them squarely under four Mud Terrains. And also... oh crap my soap box broke...Well you get the point.

LMAO..... Nice post soliddzign !!! Luckily over here there isn't many ricers but I have to laugh when I go back to the states and see them EVERYWHERE.. You know even if we didn't have so much other stuff against them you could still use the fact that everywhere you look is a tricked out Civic. How many Runners do you see around that actually mods done to them? Of the 20 or so around here on base that are american spec mine and one other are the only ones that aren't totally stock. I take some pride in knowing that I have a unique vehicle and there isn't 20 more just like it down the street!..........doh there goes my soapbox too

I'm there for you solid.

That guy on stopsuv.org is a frustrated
pantywaster looking for a crusade to
soothe his warped ego.

I can think of a place to put the gas
pump nozzle to waste a little more
gas!

it's all about spin....

Maybe we should support this weasel instead...

After all, if the demand from the soccer dad's dropped
into the toilet, maybe the auto makers would pay a little
attention to what we really like to use these vehicles for...

...And stop turning out these plastic-clad atrocities!!!!!

Dang.... I think I just burned out my positive vibes for the day!

For today, I'll just stay resting content that my friends porsche gets the same mileage as my 'runner!

I have gone in circles with these losers many times. They are part of the Enviro-Whackos and the Greenies. I have tried to tell them that our SUV's meet and sometimes even beat the limits that the government regulations call for. I have tried to tell them there are millions of people driving old 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton pickups and full size vans from the 60's and 70's that are TRUE gas guzzlers. I have also mentioned to them all the 60's and 70's cars that are still bombing around with their huge engines that truly do emit ˟˟˟˟ loads of pollutants. But, it falls on deaf ears and they clueless anyway, so to hell with 'em.

Next time you see one of them stuck in the snow, or if they are ever in your way whil ein their sardine can, just put yer Runner in 4WD and run over 'em!

Cheers!

A couple of weeks ago I was thinking about jumping into that argument, started and propogated by a bunch of STUPID SHEEP! Then I realized that, without exception, EVERYONE I know who is driving any kind of light truck, pickup, 4Runner, Blazer, even Explorer, is on their second, third or fourth vehicle of the same type. Some fad! Nobody I know has ever bought one and found out they made a mistake and replaced it with a car or whatever. So, in other words, NONE of these people know what the hell they're talking about - and they're not smart enough to know that they don't know!

These vehicles aren't perfect, but what vehicle is? Yeah, they can roll when you do something stupid. So can every tall vehicle ever made. For that matter, EVERY vehicle can be rolled under the right circumstances. So what?

Someone just wants a politically correct ox to gore, and SUVs are the current Satan. Next, it's fast food or Twinkies or whatever else they can make the stupid asses think is evil! For the life of me, I can't see what motivation controls these people.

Drive whatever you want. If you don't like these things, DON'T BUY ONE!

This one is for Whitey's troup.
We don't have snow so get 'em twice
for me.

I think ckon's last line sums it all up. But
my stupid curiosity made me check again
this morning and they are still at it.:pat:

It didn't make me soo mad this time though.
