dirty 30's wont fit, any evewr ground out their knuckle ball?

so the dirtys wont fit in my 84 front. guy at trail gear says that minor clearancing is need. so I spray painted the inside of the ball and put the axle back in and spun it to make marks on where to grind, but it seems like I would have to take out way to much.

my questions are: has anyone done this and have pics, and, how far off the inner housing oil seal does the axle actually float...Im afraid that I may be pushing it in too far when making the marks so thats why it looks like I have to take out too much.

thanks

when you install bobbylongs 30 spline
you clean out all the grease
then spray paint the inner axle ball with black paint.
with the birfield not attached to the innner axle you slip in it in the axle ball
then dry fit the spindle to assure proper aligment
now spin the birf by hand
take out the birf and grind where the paint has been scrathched up
repeat until it is clearanced.
clean up all metal shavings
pump half tube of grease in the knuckle housing fill port

We had to do it to Molly's .... just about everyone who has installed the 30 spliners has had to do it.

this is what im finding out, Im headed to the hardware store tomorrow to invest in some little dremel bits that I can actually fit up in there...its a tight little space.

i did find that I was seating them in too far, and that i need to paint it, set it and put the spindle AND ring on to get a good rub reading. man I cant wait to have this axle done and over with.
