might get a 85 I want to lift it and it be a very capable SA I will re gear and lock the diffs eventually but does one really need to go with the expensive allpro or other fancy kits for a good lift with good flex???

I have heard that requires ALOT of fabrication... man my 3rd gen was way cheaper to lift than this 85 haha but after I lift this it will have 10 times as much flex haha im thinking of buying a TG bumper for it and a locker first and then saving for a lift it has 31's on it right now and smittybilt bumpers and a warn winch... Any decent priced locker suggestions???

I would look into Alcan Springs. There built to fit you truck and they flex well. My last set i bought were fronts and i got them for about three hundo for the pair.. But they have orbital eyes in em.
an id say aussie lockers are pretty cheap. my buddy got em and he loves them.

Depends what you're doing, and what size tires you want to run.

If you're just after 33" tires, get some 33x10.5 and a set of lockers, and go wheel it.

I'm running 33x10.5 with no lift. If you move the front axle forwards and clearance the kickpanel/firewall area, you should be able to run 35's with only an inch or two of lift.

63s and RUF require alot of fab? where are you getting this info from?

RUF = make a pack, and bolt it in the front...fab = 0
63s = Buy the Sky Maunfacturing kit, weld on the hangers, bolt up so 63s fab = 0

quick and easy way to get good cheap flex

I'll spoon feed

RUF

63s

Waggys
WAGONEER / WAGGY SPRINGS
These are stock Jeep Wagoneer Springs
Length: 47" (Length is eye to eye)
Bushing: 3"
Lift: 3.5 - 3.75"
Cost: $200 New, $60-$100 Used
From JcWhitney.com:
1976 - 1992 Jeep Wagoneer, Front Leaf Spring
7 Heavy-duty Leaves #07ZX2048P $99.95 Ea
5 Leaves #07ZX2047B $84.95 Ea
The 7 leaf is supposed to be the ones you are looking for.
Pinion angle can be an issue if you just bolt waggs to the stock location. If you have dropped hanger or dual cases the problem is lessened.

44044 SPRINGS
44044s are Rancho Jeep Wagoneer Lift Springs.
Length: 47" (Length is eye to eye)
Center Pin split (front/rear) 22.5"/24.5"
Bushing: 2 3/4" & 3"
Lift: 5.25 - 5.5" (Lift is approximate and uses 1.5" longer than stock shackles giving 3/4" of lift)
Cost: $250 (Cost is for both sides incl. shipping/give or take)
44044's do not (by themselves) move your axle forward. They are the same length on the front half as stock toys (22.5"). While they do move the axle forward because of the lift they provide (arch in spring), when they compress to the point that they are flat, it's the same. Estimated 1/2" of actual axle relocation forward.

I read the threads on pirate already I searched and found that on here but it only provides 3 of lift or so... are the 44044's for front or rear? and same question for the waggy's? With the waggys where would you bolt the waggy's to make the pinion angle better? My main question is do one of these suspension set ups provide good flex I want to do some crawling are the TG kits or allpro's that much better? I really wanted around 4 of lift...

The only thing that concerns me is going with the 44044 or chevy's is that the lift wont be even...

A lot? I dont think so, all you do for the 63's is weld on hangers. Thats it. Those fancy All Pro kits your talking about require the same hangers be welded on.

Here is my setup with 63's and rears up front. I spent roughly $200 on it its super strong and pretty flexy.

No it takes a lot to flex the front out it has TONS of droop.. that was close in the first pic.

Here is before i welded the front hanger on, it sat pretty level. I just wanted a little more lift in the front so i can clear 36" tires

Is there a reason more people do the 63's in the rear than 44044's??? I was thinking RUF and 44044 out back... Also any info on the hi steer or whatever you have to do to the steering with this lift???

I've never heard of 44044's what are those?

Steering you can go with a drop arm like this one but it leaves much to be desired

I would go histeer asap. I just cant afford it yet.

I went with the 63's cause they were cheap, flexy, and can carry weight and dont give much body roll
