Well as much as I don't want to add anything "non-Toyota" to the truck I recently got to feel a Grant 414 Challenger wheel and it was freaking NICE!

I know some of you have them already and I'm curious to know how well your rig steers with a 13 1/2" wheel instead of the factory one.




Oh and Robb I guess you can stop holding on to that black wheel for me. Sorry about that.

I put one of the challenger series wheels on my Monte Carlo, and going from stock size to that little thing, even on a car, made turning a bit "dicy", lol

good for steering responce though (even though that car handled like a city bus)

 

I've got a Grant Classic. Picked it up at a garage sale for $5!
It took a little getting used to, being smaller, but now I love it. I say do it.

 

A smaller steering wheel on a vehicle makes everything more 'twitchy'- less distance moved at the rim of the wheel makes more movement at the wheels. Not a bad thing if you're F1, CART or IMSA racing... but (sorry Matt16) when you're dealing with not-stock backspacing, wheels larger that stock, altered suspension angles from ball joint spacers and such, the last thing you want is a smaller steering wheel to further restrict your control over the front wheels... unless you change your steering ratio.

 

i want a mack truck steering wheel...

 

I have one on my yota and I like it, the response from the steering is great. I dont need to turn my wheel as much. I also race mustangs so that could be why. If you want more response from the wheel then do it if you are quick turner then stay stock.

If anything, I'd go to a bigger steering wheel, but that's just me. I drove a RAV4 about a year ago for a couple thousand kilometers and I just couldn't get used to the tiny steering wheel.

I like mine...takes a little gettin used to...but no issues so far in the month i have had it.

I for one would love a 16" chain steering wheel. In fact, I think I'll put that on my to-build list.

 

if I were around in the 70's, that's how I would have rolled Cheech and Chong, without the illegal substances though, lol
