1987 4runner starter is going out....

Hey guys,

I have a 1987 4runner and the starter is starting to fail....I am trying to remove it but there seems to be no good way to get to it.

Is there a trick to this or am I just having a brainfart???

Thank you...

Did you remove the access panel on the inside of the right front fender well?

I have found the best way is top bolt from the top with a long extension .

Bottom bolt from the bottom if you come in from the back side you can look right up and see the bolt on the bottom. I replace the positive cable on the battery at this time with a thicker new one.

If you have not removed and relocated the fuel filter now is a good time. with the starter out
