Just picked up a new mag...

I got back from the store and took a study break with the new 4wd and Sport Utility. Good Toyota coverage as usual, but it had events that were long since over.

The good news was the new Bogger sizes listed in one of the ads. There is now a 35x10.5x16 Bogger. It must be that time Steve...

How many of you are still regular magazine readers?

What do you prefer?

The only one I subscribe to is 4WD and Sport Utility. I preview the others on the news stand, but I typically also have a current "JP" and a "4 Wheel & Off Road". Occasionally a "Four Wheeler". Almost never "Off Road".

My sub ran out on 4WD and Sport Utility, but I still get it at Safeway if I browse through it and see Toyota stuff since they are known for a lot of Toyota coverage.

I'll have to renew it again soon.

Usually i read Pederson's 4wd and offroad and recently i picked up a Four Wheeler for a plane trip. As far as Four wheeler goes I don't think I'll ever buy it again. It had no use as far as Yota mods went which is what I'm mainly interested in.

I read a little more.

Two things irritated me from the magazine on my morning trip to the office.

One, they had a letter from a guy asking about putting a PowerTrax in the front and rear of his Jeep. He was curious about on-road driveability. The response was that they would be transparent. WHAT? Grab a clue dude.

Two, they had a Grand Cherokee article and the axles were listed as F-250 axles. Not as Dana 60's, but only as F-250 axles, no year even.

Jay K had a good article about some Arizona trail time that happened in February or some such. He also had a diesel tech article in Four Wheeler. Good to see a Toy guy getting his name in print.

Schaefer would not bite on the skinny boggers though, too bad.

I like to get an Australian 4wd Monthly every now and then. EXCELLENT MAG if you like expedition style wheelin. They also frequently have some wicked crawler types in there, and they have some good rock crawling/obstacle course event coverage every now and then too.

I was down for the AZ on the Rocks festival- Carnage, Carnage and more Carnage.

On the trail and in camp too- One of the Tin Bender's managed to drop his truck on his hand while repairing a broken rear main leaf.

We went down Friday afternoon- Mondo HUGE bonfire and a keg of Amber Bock. We never even got thru a trail Friday nite due to rigs breaking on Annihilator and Lower Terminator. Finally went to crash out at 4:30 AM

It was wall to wall Rock Climbin' Eye candy-

Good question. I have been lucky enough to find some issues (although they are back issues) at a local magazine rack. They cost about $10, so I don't get every issue I see there. I would love to have a subscription though, it's a high quality magazine with lots of fun articles about overland treks through all sorts of remote places in Australia, and great featured rigs with lots of trick custom work. Cool tech articles including stuff you just don't see in the US rags. They are pretty thick and glossy with a lot of content.
