3.4 Auto swap into 91 4runner

3.4 Auto swap into 91 4runner
I'm using the motor and trans out of a 99 4runner and want to mate a 4cyl gear driven T/case to the trans. My question is can I use the shift stick off of the 99 4runner t/case on top of the 4cyl t/case? I figure the stick on the 99 already bent to the correct angle and from what I saw it was a top shift mount style t/case if i'm not mistaken (I only had a quick look at it).
