1st Gen Interior Panel Metal Fab

Well, I'm super tired of the ply and vinyl panels in my interior, there's some pins broken, missing, tears, and broken/brittle plastic. It's just a pain, and it's not really adding to the chick factor at all (as well as being durable, and easy to clean of course).

Has anyone in here done a metal fabbed set of interior panels for the rear quarter panels of a 1st Gen. 4Runner?

I'd really like to hear some advice about it, and pics if there's any available.

check out the this folder on ttora: http://ttora.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18
I don't have time to search it but I know there is a thread in there about what you are talking about. I have seen some nice plywood panels and some done in aluminum diamond plate. I think the user was 'peanut butter' or something like that..
Good luck...

if you still have the old cracked ones and you can get them out reletivly intacked, then you can use them as a templit for the new ones

Yeah I have 6x9s and I was going to use my current ones for templates, but I think with durability and the fact that my rig isn't totally watertight, I'd like to hit up the diamond plate idea. I'll keep looking and keep everyone updated.

when i bought this runner there was no interior at all. just the dash, and seats were there. i had no templates to go off of. i used a tape measure and cardboard. you can tell it was my first fab job though, some of my seams arn't the best!!!! i got a sweet piece of stainless steel to go over the rear seat area that hinges. it is a nice lock box when the top is off, but i am looking for a rear bench now so i can take my son and girlfriend together wheeling!!!!

anyone in washington have a clean rear bench for sale????
