I bought another top shift gear driven case but I cannot get the shifter to move. Will it not move with the case removed from the transmission? The shifter is on top, of course, but I noticed two rails (about 3/4" long) sticking out of the front side of the case, is this normal? Thanks for all help.

 

Sounds like you have a forward shift T-case. The rods are what shift it. Can a forward shifter be made into a top shifter??
