Does anyone know if the black widow roof rack with the 20" extension will fit on a 2002 4runner?

 

I would say yes....but you'll need to buy feet and a crossbar (Thule/Yakima) mounted above the the front doors. Place the basket on the factory crossbars and the added crossbar. It woun't work with just the factory rack.
I have a Rola safari rack with the extension (70") and do it this way. The Black Widow measures approx. 62". To attch the rack to the front crossbar, I used two screw type hose clamps (radiator hose clamps). Never had a problem with hauling camping gear.
I'm thinking of adding another extension (19"), welding all the pcs together and welding two stubs on each side so I can add bike trays. I'll slide the rack forward to clear the back hatch.

 

i have the black widow rack with the extension and it fits my 2000 without the extra cross bar. i had to make some new brackets for it to clamp on to the factory rack but it fits with no problem.

3w41d...does the your rack have a "bow" in it or is it an optical illusion?....just wondering.

 

how do you like the extension? do you think it would be better with an extra bar? it looks like it might be a bit weak.

 

I've found the roof rack on discountramps.com, but they are out of the 20" ext. and don't know when they will get any in. Does anyone know where to find the extension??
