help - need Wiring Diagrams

Dows anyone have or know where to download the EWD's for an 89 4runner? I know I can get them at techinfo.toyota.com, but I have neither an american CC or mailing address. Any help is appreciated!

looking for the ECU wire that signals the Ingnitor...What kind of signal it needs to have, and what pin it should be on at both ends....

It's not on the diagrams I have. I'll look around elsewhere and see if I can help find something for you.
But you might try searching for the FSM for you vehicle and see if the info is there.

that would be awesome, I do have 12 volt power at the ignitor but there's nothing else I can see with a test light...I'm gonna try and find a multimeter shortly here and go back and try cleaning off the grounds and do the tests with a multimeter as per the FSM...Hope something comes up here, lol I'm getting tired of fighting with this thing. Could there possibly be something I missed when I swapped over to the 5 spd? Like does the transmission need to send a signal to the ECU for the truck to start other than the park/neutral switch? I've looked over everything...stupid thing is I was getting it to kick with starting fluid, but if I pull a plug I only get intermittent spark in the proper place (for example it will only spark once if I run the started for 30 seconds or so...)

you'll need a multimeter (preferably digital) to test the pickup coils in the distributor and such.

Thanks 904, they had a set a year newer, but they're close, I at least know which pins are what on the connectors now. Once I got back to my shop with a Multimeter and tested the coil, the primary was sitting around .6 or .7 ohms and the secondary was over by about 2K ohms. Does anyone know if this is enough to cause a loss of spark? I'm thinking it might be time for a new set of plug wires as well...they're still good but a couple are towards the high end of the "good" zone. Maybe the combination of the two is enough to kill off any spark I'm getting? Anyone have any other ideas? The only other thing I can think of is that the ECU isn't letting the truck start because there is no signal coming from the automatic that I swapped out...any thoughts on that one, or anyone that's done a 5spd swap have any input?
