M.a.s. Adjustment screw help!!

Can someone help me with adjusting what I assume is the air adjustment screw on my mass airflow sensor by my intake?
I have been having trouble with passing emissions and not sure if that is adjusted properly.. My CO levels at emissions were 7 times what is allowed!!

I tend to smell a bit of gas form time to time, which I guess would explain the rich readings and failures??

Should that screw be turned futher towards left or right??

any advice is appreciated!
Neal

There is no MAF on 2nd gen trucks, only a VAFM & there's no screw adjustment. Got pics of what you're talking about??

I'm guessing he's turning the idle bleed on the throttle body.

I have a cold air intake and right after the air filter there is a MAS... mass air flow sensor... or at least thats the part name that I was given when purchasing it.. Its got a screw adjustment on it that I was told adjusts your lean/rich mixture...

the reason I am targeting this is b/c I have exhausted all other repairs regarding my 7.89 CO level at my failed emissions testing.. legal limit is 1.29... was I told right on the adjustment screw?

thanks
