yet another example of running boards being useful- dipstick photos.
--speaking of which, I need to paint them again.

lol. so i JUST went outside to measure mine and its 15 5/8" hooking on to the end measuring to the stop.....and the 'full' mark is at 1 5/16"
looks like its 1' longer? when i swapped motors, my buddy that installed my motor used the dipstick from my old motor, and when i add 4 liters of oil after an oil and filter change, its way over filled, according to my old dipstick. in my owners manual it says 4.5 liters for an oil change and filter
what are your thoughts abe?

Everything I have says stock fill capacity with filter change is like 4.5 quarts, so should be just under 4.5 litre, if my on-the-fly conversion is working.
I don't see the oil filter holding .5 qt / L since none I've seen have the anti-drainback valve and I find it hard to believe the filter soaks up a half quart / liter in the filter media itself.
Maybe the dipstick tube is a different length?

if it were me, I'd fill the case with the proper amount of oil, start the engine and let it run a minute or two then shut it off. Let the oil settle back in the case and pull the dipstick, wipe it, put it back in and pull it back out (ahhh) then mark the backside with a dremel or something.
