Cold a/c fanished

I have a 95 SR5 3.slow... Truck runs fine for the most part... The a/c (up until yesterday) was the coldest, hardest blowing a/c I have ever had... THEN POOF!!!! its blowing hot now... Literally "all of the sudden" the air stopped blowing cold...

Can anyone offer suggestions on this one?

thank you

Check your A/C Dryer, The sight glass popped off of mine and it was leaking super fast, Its only like a 20$ part, hopefully thats what it is. Check all other lines and hoses too, maybe your cable is unhooked?

I had the exact same problem happen to me last year. I have a 94' SR5 and my A/C would freeze me out on the hottest of days. One day I went to turn it on and only warm air would blow out and the light on the A/C button was out.

Check the following:
  • Did you blow the fuse for the A/C (this fuse box is behind the glove box)? It might just be a blown fuse which would also cause the A/C button light to go out).
  • Like Trustyrusty suggested check for any leaks that might have dumped everything.
The resolve to my broken A/C? Pulling and replacing the sensor switches (also located behind the glove box). My sensors had gone out which is what caused the fuses to blow originally. Once the new sensors were installed I was back to ice cold air freezing me out.

Good luck.

thanks guys... My A/C light still works. Does that narrow it down for you guys any better?

Hey Trustyrusty.. what "cable" are you referring to? There is no signs of leakage..

thanks again fellas

Probably a slow leak that finally causes low enough pressure to cut the system off (will not run AC compressor if pressure to high or low).

Consider a leak test (buy a kit) and see if you can find it. Be careful with products that seal holes. It is better to just replace o-rings or leaking parts then potentially destroy the compressor.

The one behind your switches and levers and crap for the climate control, you probably just have a leak..
