What the heck is this thing?!?!

Ok this thing bugs the crap out of me whenever im sitting in my 4runner (when its off) this box just clicks and clicks and clicks and it drives me crazy when i touch it it stops but then quickly starts again it has a button on the top of it but i dont know what it does i havent pressed it
any help?

Where is it located? It looks too clean to be factory IMO. Maybe after-market alarm?

It's a bomb. Just cut the red wire. (Or is it the blue wire ...?)

Do you have an alarm? I have a 94' SR5 and I also discovered this black box that came loose right above my clutch pedal- the box is black with a small flashing light and a button on the top. My button actually adjusts the sensor level for the alarm and while mine does not click, the red light flashes only when my engine is turned off.

yeah it has a light and i do have an alarm i guess thats waht it is then or waht it has to do with ill push the button and hope to god my runner doesnt blow up

Its an aftermarket alarm box, most likely a sensor of some sort. It is NOT factory.

def. not factory look at the mounting tabs !! I would guess starter kill or module for alarm the button would be a valet button
