Cold Weather Wonders
I've noticed ever since I bought my '86 if its between 10 and 30 degrees-ish to start my truck in the mornings I have to pump the gas pedal five times, and start it, it will run like crap, and die, then I pump it twice to three times again to start it again, again it will run like crap, and die, sometimes on three cylinders, sometimes running terrible, I repeat this three to four times and FINALLY it will start and stay running, but If I give it any gas it will hesitate and die immediatly, it is carburated, is it just cold blooded or is my carb a POS? I been thinking about rebuilding my carburator because the carb/intake gasket has a leak and whistles on occasion, though this just recently started..

Definitely throw the rebuild kit in it... Mine does that as well, but it will only die on me once. Will it stay running if you don't touch the gas? Also, how is the warm idle? Your cold idle screw could be out of adjustment, in which case, refer to the fsm for instructions on setting it...
