Wanting some more power out of my 4runner

Hey guys, i have a 2000 4runner with a TRD supercharger but i have been thinking i want some more zoom. As usual im on a budget but i just want to know whats out there for upgrade, (headers, exhaust, airfilter. etc.) I mean my 4runner has good power right now but i was it to be a bit louder at the exhaust end (kinda thinking a cherry bomb or something cheap), but i also want more power. Any links or ideas would be awesome. i searched around but on this i just want some opinions. thanks in advance guys!

Headers will open up that s/c like you wouldn't believe. You'll also get a sound from them that you can't get from any muffler.

Do they really make that much difference? can't wait to get my s/c 7th injector swap with headers done now.

hey good info. I have heard about the URD but never looked into it because it is kind of out of my price range. Headers seem like a good idea but what kind? any links you would reccomend? And ive searched about air filters and basically heard that people like the sound of a K&N but it is a lot of maintenance and pretty expensive so they like the OEM ones instead. i was thinking about just doing the Intake Silencer mod and calling it good..

thanks!

Most definately. Was it worth the pain and personal anguish of the install? That's still debatable....

I did the ISR and elbow mod recently and I noticed a little difference:

Thorley. I have champagne dreams on a beer budget so TRD was a little too pricey for me.

dont get headers if you do not have the 7th injector of some kinda of fuel management. I have urd 7th and DT headers, with there cat back. I love the headers, but they made changing the clutch a b*tch, the cross over pipe is in the way of the top 2 bolts and the one above the starter. you can loosen the bolts but you cant pull them out because they hit the cross over pipe. So if you need to do any clutch work do it at the same time as the header install. What size pulley do you have? The 7th and a 2.2" pulley will give you all kinds of power.

Yeah skip the headers and get the proper fuel management, that's your problem and not only does it not perform like you want, it will ruin your engine running boost without the proper air/fuel ratio.

I highly recommend the Jardine cat-back exhaust for the 3rd Gen It has a nice deep growl from my NA engine with intake. I paid just under $300 for mine a couple of years ago.
