I,d do it in a heartbeat. Title goes with the cab. Gee I wonder how they hold that little tag on the dashboard anyhow.

no the first guy signed it to his son or his brother then they sold it to some 1 els then that guy sold it to me to it changed hands 3 times and never got registered so ide have to find the 1st guy (have no idea where he is, trucks titled in GA) and mail him the title so he can get a new one then he can sign it to me, lots and lots of BS

What happened to the bonded title thing? I recently found out that in order for me to get around the bonded title I can get a notarized bill of sale from the guy I bought it from and they will transfer it straight from the guys name who he bought it from, basically bypass the guy I bought it from with the notarized bill of sale. I guess every state is different so that might not work for you? I'm so pissed about my title so I know how you feel. It's BS and I learned my lesson.

Problem w/ swapping a VIN is if one of those law enforcement guys want to be a $#@$#*(%$!!! they will ask you to pop the hood, door etc and confirm the VIN w/ the other body locations. I had a winter beater CRX once back in the day that the officer thought the rivets holding the VIN tag to the dash looked "aftermarket" so he proceeded to check every other one on the car. Luckily, it was a fully legit POS!

What i would do is file a mechanics lean against the truck for a rather large sum of money. You will have to look up the exact laws in your state, but most states this isn't that difficult to accomplish, and will get you a legal title for the vehicle.
