I need Timing Chain Help

i need to jump my timing chain one tooth, ive been trying for like an hour and cant get it, any tips? o yeah and with the timing marks lined up the crankshafts on 12 BTDC not good right? thanks for any help

your going to have to pull the front of the motor apart and pull the cam gear off and re set it. just make sure you mark everything and take pictures. and you might want to pick up a new timeing chain because the one you have obviously is loose if it jumped a tooth. and you might want to check your water pump while your in there to see if the chain ate thru your water jacket

If you're tearing into as far as mentioned above, replace the chain guides and the tensioner. They are most likely shot if the chain jumped!

got it!... had to pull the cam gear bolt off jump it a tooth and move the cam with a pair of pliers, went ahead and adjusted my valves wile i was in there and she idles smooth, but now it seems like the carb is starveing the motor of fuel, if i cover half of it with my hand it revs alot better....

oh the motor is new, was rebuilt like 8000 miles or so ago, i think the PO never had it right

what carb do you have? if you knocked just slightly off you could have messed with mechanical fuel pump.

i got the stock carb on it, what do you mean knocked just slightly off?
