offset driveline's qestions...

hey all, i may have sold the ol runner, so im getting a zuk as soon as possible, but if ya think about it.....zuk axles really REALLY suck like crap.... so the extra yota axles for my planned sas will be going under it, what my qestion is, is it possible to get my axles under the zuk even though i have offset transfer case? i was curiouse if i could use some sort of a flexible joint on the end of the transfer case or the driveshaft itself to make it possible to use the axles under the zux without transfer case mods....oh, and i wont EVER be using this on pavement as a daily driver, its going to be offroad use only, if that matters.....

sure you can, my buddy runs a Dana 44, non ofset, behind dual zuk cases. you just need a cv style driveshaft, ill try to get pics of his rear driveline for you. and just FYI, zuk axles are not that bad, he used and abused welded zuk axles with stock birfields for quite some time, and he had 33's. but when he upped to 38's, he decided that he needed something stronger. if you plan on running 33's or less, i would say you can get away with the stock axles. pics coming in a few minutes.

EDIT: if you scroll down this page, you can see a pic of his Zuk winning an rti contest....AT A JEEP EVENT!! o man was that a funny day, the jeep guys lauged at it, until he walked home with the trophy.(this is when he has only 36's on it)

if you poke arround the pictures section of the site, you will see many pics of the zuk. if you have any questions, post em here, and if i cant answer it, ill put him on the site. he built that from scratch, and the only places he has money invovled, is the rear case gears, tires, engine swap, and that is about it. everything else was scrounged up, and found in any place immaginable. as he says "Made from parts I had, parts I could get for free, and parts I could get for cheap." and its true.

Regarding the CV driveshaft, you would need to use a shaft with a CV joint on both ends.
