Well I'm stuck, I'm putting installing my lift kit, got every thing off but the lower control arm bolts they are stuck solid I've tried heating them, hammering and cutting them with the sawzall and the blades dull within 15 secs. Of cutting, any ideas?

 

Hehe......yeah, that's hardened steel, bubba. No sawsall will cut through that. You'd need a cut off wheel or a real torch. You may need to get someone with power tools to bust them loose, spray them with penetrant, tighten them up enough to get home where you can finish the job.

On the other hand, soaking with penetrating fluid for a little while......a couple of days.........and using some long cheater bars could do the trick. Just use some 1/2 drive sockets and breaker bar so you don't break your tools.

Yeah, WD40 is not much good for a penetrant, but it works as a good, basic lube......or a torch....hehe.

 

Try these blades. They advertise them as PVC blades, but they cut hardened bolts really well. I used them on my rear leaf bolts when I did my lift after I went through 2 10 packs of the Millwake "Rescue" metal blades.

 

I'll try the pb blast, I can turn the actual bolt but it's frozen inside the sleeve and the rubber bushing just turns, and your absolutly right about the sawzall blades I have tried every kind/brand there is.

2ft breaker bar + 2ft cheater pipe... Snap the bolts!

Oh, I see. Cut 'em. Or, if you're replacing the bushings anyway, burn them out and then work the sleeve.

I'm in the same boat, I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet but does anyone make replacement bushings for the OEM IFS? I can't align my truck because the bolts are siezed in the bushings

 

you should be able to get replacments from any autoparts store. Or the dealer..

Lmao..durn stuck cam bolts!! In the same boat myself. Passenger side rear cam bolt won't budge for nothin'! Tried beatin' it, heatin' it, air hammerin' it, even tried wedging a bottle jack between the crossmember...which my jack didn't like. Latest attempt is with my trusty 'ol cut off wheel. Was going great till my air compressor kicked on and popped the breaker(that I don't have access to)in my little apartment complex garage which left me in the dark. I'm over it. Dealer was the only place I could find new bolts with a very extensive search. $14/bolt..$9/washer. Ordered moog bushings on partsgeek for $86/set. Darn bolt isn't out 'yet' ..but I WILL win ..eventually!=] good luck with yours

 

I think his bolts would have rusted off by now.

 

These are what I used to cut off my LCA bolts. I had a saws all and about 10 carbide grit blades from harbor freight it took a long time but I got them eventually! WEAR EAR PLUGS! You can find new bolts in the junkyard for really cheap, when I got mine from the junkyard we had some other stuff also. Didnt even get charged for them.
