You can use a torch, but they tend to be very dangerous.
We use cordless sawzalls here to do cuts for body shops (I work for a wrecking yard) and it is by far the fastest, and safest method. It tends to be spendy since they blades are so much money, but its worth it.
Cordless saws are going to run you $125-$250 depending on quality. We use the DeWalt saws, and they seem to hold up the best for the value.

I'm not a fan of battery powered tools, but if you have to get one I'd say go DeWalt or Makita. Sawzall's quick and easy, jigsaw would probably make for a cleaner cut but will take more time.
I'd say don't bother with the torch, you'll probably put the truck up in flames if its like most cars in a junkyard.

At the Fire station I grab the speedway cutters (part of the jaws of life set) for the "A" and "B" pillars, and a cordless sawzall for the rest (usually the windshield's top edge) however in training I have had good results using only the sawzall, cutting metal will take some time (I cut the glass in a rescue as a sawzall blows through it faster than the metal). and as for brand Dewalt is what we run on the Engines here, for a blade we carry both metal (higher teeth per inch) and Destruction (medium teeth per inch), the destruction will handle everything, but will not be the best at one or the other.
If you don't want to spend new prices and only have one job in mind for it, check pawn shops in your area. Look for one with a name you would trust, and has charger, and batteries with it.
Also if the JY is letting you cut it off, find out if you can park next to it, that would allow you to run a small generator or an inventor from the truck, and a less expensive corded sawzall, granted the inventor would have to be of the appropriate wattage to run it

what about dental floss??? sorry could resist. If you dont need a sawzaw to often you get get a ryobi one for cheap. For the price and what you seem to be needing it for it should work fine. I had a 12v ryobi drill to have around the house and the battery help up for about 4 years. Not bad for $40. I would get ryobi for everyday use. I used it a total of 20 times so far if that
