why can't I use keyless entry with vehicle on?

Does anyone know a way to override this? I want to be able to use the keyless entry with the vehicle on. It makes perfect sense for starting the truck up in the cold winter mornings, then locking it as I leave and wait for it to warm up. When I'm ready to leave, I click the button to unlock and get in! Why would they not allow you to do this? Is there a way to change it? Nothing in the programming manual.

I actually pick up a module that allows this to happen (out ot the Crutchfield catalog) I allows u to start the vehicle with the remote-automatically starts it when the temp goes below 32* (for a breif while) but I cannot figure HOW the heck to wire it in! My point is that there are aftermarket add on's for this-overriding the existing procedure??- I have no idea-hopefully someone will chime in.

bump, winter is approaching! well, not that close. but in Montana you've got to be ready for it. it got below freezing in alot of places here last night. I also need to have an engine block heater installed, that is one feature the new truck did not come with.
