Ok,

I got a whole 540 miles on my 03 and have been intentionally shifting the 5 speed auto manually a lot to save the engine from laboring.

So, I am driving home yesterday when I find I cannot get the tranny to stay in "4" . Upon further investigation, I can only get "D", "3" and "2" but no 4 or L !!!

Slight panic sets in so I go have a cold beer to think about it.



It appears I can force the shifter into 4 and the tranny shifts but it will not stay. I pop off the upper console and find some bozo (err...me !) forgot to reconnect the 12V outlet and the DAC switches and the connectors are literally fouling the shift linkage

I had removed the upper console to add the switch for my lights up front and forgotten to reconnect :pat:

So, I hook em up and all is right in the world...I am so glad I did not have to have the stealer explain that to me

Anyway, panic over, back to a 5 speed !

 

that sounds like something i would do. i make so many stupid mistakes, me and my friends just call those 'somers' as in my last name. so for you, i think my friend, you just pulled a 'somers'
