im installing a new head unit in a 94 4x4 sr5 p/u
i bought the new harness and spacer kit
but now that its all wired up the radio wont turn on?

i thought it was my wiring but when i plugged up the old radio it wont work either

so i checked all the fuses and there all good

and i also noticed that the door buzzer has stopped working now???

any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

So you didnt spend the extra 10 bucks and just get a wiring ADAPTER, instead of slicing up the factory harnes...?

 

He said he bought the new harness so i am guessing he is talking about the adapter for the factory harness.

Which fuses did you check? all of them in the cab and under the hood? usually if two things all of a sudden quite working at the same time it is a fuse. I would double check them all. One thing you can do if you have a multi meter is use it to check the fuses on the setting that beeps when the leads contact each other, that is, it will beep if the fuse is good and wont if it is bad....sometimes a fuse can "look" fine but still not let current through it. If all else fails you can run a new wire to power the radio but that wouldnt get your door buzzer back.
