mounting a basket rack on a 1st gen runner ?

Ive got a 85 runner and I am interested in mounting a basket rack on there but I cant seem to find any places let sell mounting kits for the 1st gen runners w/ thier racks. So I was wanting some ideas on how to mount it on there . these are the ones let I wanted .http://www.accessconnect.com/safari.htm

Looks like you could get the rack you want on that site, then order the CH100 Mount kit they have and mount it on the R3600 rails they sell. You would have to mount the rails, then slide the CH100 into them. Still a pretty cheap option because the rack seems like a great value. Most of the racks I have seen are in the $300 plus range.

so I will need to mount rails on the top first then get the rail kit or what ever that was , then mount the rack on top of the rails ? thanx much I appreciate it alot .

You can get some mounting hardware from both Thule and Yakima (Select products, rack systems, then permanent).
Bolt right through the fiberglass & be sure to use backing plates or extra large washers and lots of sealant on both sides.

Jerry can dimensions can be found here .

At least this is the original version with the lever lid, not the screw on version.
