Swapping in Tilt Steering into a 94 truck

Greetings My 16yo son recently bought a 94 Pickup. Super nice truck but he is pushing 6'3" and the steering wheel is very tight to his legs.

Has anyone swapped in a tilt steering column from another truck or 4 runner?
If so what year, parts, cost etc...

I have checked with a few Toyota junkyards and they were not much help. Bodyshops zero info.

I want see if this is even possible.

You should be able to swap a tilt column from any 89-94 pickup. Just remember to get the keys for the ignition with it, or you'll probably need a locksmith to swap out the cylinders. I'm 6'1", and have tilt. But the extra cab is what helped me with the leg room. Those standard cabs are a little tight.

I swapped in a tilt wheel in my 85. Simply unbolt the old one and bolt the tilt steering column right in

I've been thnking about swapping in a tilting steering wheel too. From a 93 4runner into my 91. Can anyone say a little more about the ignition cylinder? Would I have to use a different key, are there any options for switching all of it?

You'd have to have the tilt re-keyed to match your old key or re-key everything (doors, etc). The lock cylinders on the tilt columns are different than the standard column.
