Truck Runs Wierd At Start Up

when i first start my truck up and take off its starts bogging down and jumping and wont hardly go. i have to stop and rev the engine up a little bit and then it runs just fine. it only happens at start up even if the engine is warm or cold. cant figure out. what could it be?

have you checked the vane in the air flow meter to make sure it's moving smoothly?
what condition are your plugs in and what's the gap set at?

those plugs have a groove cut in the side electrode- the theory is that the arcs occur more easily on a sharp edge and since the electrode has two sharp edges near the center electrode, it should fire more easily.
gap should be .032" iirc.

well... many things can be checked:
I'd double check timing and maybe change the fuel filter if it's been a while...
... fuel injector treatment like Seafoam or Berryman's....

Throttle position sensor check: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/AFM/index.shtml
Air flow meter check: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml

I replaced the fuel filter about 30,000 miles ago when i put the engine in. put a new tps on about 15,000 miles ago. i ran seafoam through the vaccum hose that connects to the brake booster today and that didnt help either. i have a cheap bosch o2 sensor which i replaced about 15,000 miles ago also. could it be my o2 sensor? how do i clean the cold start injector?

mine did the same thing, but only once it had been warmed up and turned off for a short period of time. After i replaced and tested about every component it ended up being the bosch 02 with only 10k on it. Switched to the denso brand and it fixed the problem.

My truck is doing the same thing. Ive replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and borrowed the coil from my 87 4 runner. I also swapped my 02 sensor from the 4 runner and same thing. When I unplugged the 02 sensor it ran about the same. Its wierd because whenever im sitting still ill turn the lights on and the engine jumps for a second. At idle and with the lights on, if I steer it starts bogging and popping. You should test your truck to see if it does this, if so weve got the same problem. Im going to be replacing my 02 sensor tomorrow and then ill try my air flow sensor from the 4 runner.
