Whats the best way to make the notches for a MC rear bumper? I did a search and found nothing about making the notches. Thanks.

are you talking about notching for the rear mounts below the tailgate?
not sure about the MC bumpers on 2nd and third gen trucks but I had to trim my lower rear quarter panels on my 1st Gen. I have a 4" grinder and a sawzall...works great for that so of stuff

 

like asked above. for tubing, 4" grinder, and a half round file for perfecting it. have a nice fit so its as strong as possible. dont fill in gaping gaps with welder fill, have the fit nice and snug, your weld will look better, and perform better.

 

if you talking about the roll pan for the mount brakets i used aviation snips and a file, they turned out pretty clean, imo...

 

whatever you're comfertable cutting with? Depends how clean you want the finish..

But seriously, use something sharp haha! Alot of guys I know use die-grinders with a cut-off wheel.

 

Dude I hate to tell you this but you have an Alien about to drop from above and slap you with a face hugger, I've seen the movies and I know. Look out for the "tail spike through the back" move.......... You really need to have Private Hudson there with you when you get in this sort of situation.

As far as notching goes I used some heavy tin snips and a file to clean up the cuts.

well, you have to cut 2 notches in the roll pan on the trucks. not on the runners though.
