our 83 pickup flatbed build
me and my bro have finally decided to start building the flatbed for our 83 project truck... the truck itself is no where near finished, but heres what we have so far:
here is us taking the bed off, anyone wanna buy it? pm me...

here we are admiring the frame...

waiting to be worked on... oh and those are my tracks in the background

bobbing the frame

getting everything square after cutting, before welding.

tacking everything together

checkin out how its gonna sit, were just lookin at it, that cross bar doesnt actually go there, the whole thing should sit up bout 1 or 2" higher...

this is everything we did tonight, and ill be posting whatever i can on the build... tell me what you think, any ideas and whatnot...

yup, the bed is gonna sit at the same height as the front wheel well, and we'll either be getting wheel spacer or more off set rims so they dont rub the frame, the tires are about 1" away from the leaf springs right now,

NICE BUILD!
I am almost done with mine. I have to admit I saw your rig on another site and I really liked the angled back. I used a similar design for the flatbed I am building for my 94.
You did a great job on that!! Really clean and the lighting looks killer.

what material did you use to cover the empty space between the frame rails and the bottom of the bed? doesnt look like steel but i could be wrong I like the idea of it, because I hate the empty space some flat beds have.

That is a SWEET truck you have there!!! I've been looking to buy a flatbed for my 85. I'm really liking how yours turned out. I can pretty much send this to the shop down the road and have them build one for me. Cheaper!! I don't wield so...Thank you for posting all of the pictures. That really helps.
