I want to know if there is any way to fit 33s on a 1988 toyota v6 with out buying a lift for the truck? Is there anything i can do to make enought clearance? I would like some help cause i don't have the money to put into the truck for a lift. At least till i get out of college.

I know this isn't what you want to hear but do you need 33's? I noticed you said you don't have a lot of money to put into it so it might be a good idea to go with 31/10.50's until you're out of college and then you can lift/lock/armor/whatever.

I know you can fit 33/10.50's with no lift and no mods, 33/12.50's might rub at full lock depending on how you wheel it. If you really want the 12.50's then you'll have to pound the pinch weld and maybe cut some sheet metal with a sawzall.

Other option is buy 33x10.50 instead. Mount them on the stock rims (saves you more money) and they will clear.

Yeah I forgot to mention this part. Use your stock rims if you want to go with 10.50's. And a 10.50 has less foot print and rolling mass so it should keep you from to much loss of mpg. That and I think 10.50's are just about perfect for a light weight rig like ours.

 

I'd vote for 31's. At this point in time I'm staying with 31's so I can keep my gas mileage and focus on wheeling technique instead of just "getting bigger tires".

 

That right there is the smart thing to do when learning to wheel. Without knowledge all you have is a lifted/locked monster with a ding bat behind the wheel....... Jeep anyone?

 

I agree somewhat, but if your tires are worn out and you need to buy some anyway, I would get the tallest ones that fit.
