'84-'89 4Runner & Pick-Up, New Grill Mod

I was looking around the cardomain site, checking out all the 4Runners and found a nice 84-89 Toyota Pick-Up with a 92-95 style grill on it. It looks like no or very little modification to update the look of your 84-89 4Runner or Pick-up. IMO, it reallys cleans up the front end and updating the look. This could possibly be a new grill mod for those that own the 84-89 4runners and pick ups, so who's going to be the guinea pig?

Thats awesome! I've wanted to get a new grill cuz mines all scratched up since its an '88 and it wasn't real chrome it was plastic to start with. I don't want to be the guinea pig though cuz im short on cash. I start my job Sept 10 so maybe after that sometime...
Do you know who's truck that is? Cuz i would love to ask them how they did that.

And how about those tires! Looks like they are about to jump off the wheels. Those wheels look like they need to be twice as wide as they are now.:pat:

Hmm, I was actually thinking of going the other way... modifying a 1st gen grill from a 4Runner to fit a 2nd gen pickup.
It looks like it has less plastic blocking airflow to the radiator.

But forget the grill, anyone got any leads on those fender flares?!?!
Nice and phat, but without those visible screw holes...

Btw, my 1990 pickup has the same grill with that top line of 'chrome' trim.

Vato Loco: what was the URL for this guy's web page?

I was going to do this mod a year ago... My friend has a 92 and he removed his black plastic grill and gave it to me since I have a black pickup. It looks like everything will line up, the only thing that held me back was that the corner lamps would still have had a chrome trim ring around them, and I didn't want to break any of the clips on the original grill.

That's not just the grill it's the bumper/valance and all, except the corner lights.
I dont like the tires, they're too stuffed in there. How could you flex that? But it would be cool to run over ricers with.
