I dont mean to completely bring back a new thread to life over something simpler but it beats posting a new thread. Im thinking of purchasing the toytec 2"lift kit as well, I have a 5spd 4wd single cab 93 pickup. Will I need any kind of shifter extension, will there be any issue with my 4wd having to be dropped? And I know it would work with out this, but wouldnt it be better to get new torsion bars to cope with the new lift or is there any reduced/increased stress at all on them with this type of lift? I need to know everything to replace/upgrade to go from completely stock, to this kit. Oh, and my truck has manual lock outs as well.

no to the shifter extension. You might need to drop the front diff if you cranks the torsion bars too much. You should only need to upgrade torsion bars if you have an after market bumper with a winch and might not even then. Since you have the lockout hubs you shouldn't need a diff drop.

Ok, but for arguments sake, I do plan on putting a heavier winch bumper on, and I would like the t-bars to be as unstressed as possible. How would one go about deciding on a different t-bar? What I'm asking is, do you need stiffer ones for heavier loads, longer ones or what? I'm not real sure how they work to begin with other than a twist is applied to create tension.

yes they twist to create tension. Heavier load equals stiffer bars. Search around a lot of people run after market bumpers with winches and leave their torsion bars alone but many upgrade to a larger diameter bar to compensate for the weight. Check out sway away lots of guys run them here. I think they're around 25 or 26 mm bars. Not sure search a little for after market torsion bars and you should be able to pull up the info on it.
