Its there for that very purpose. To constantly remind you "Hey, dummy, your brights are still on!!" That way you aren't "that guy" (as stated above) that leaves his brights on all the time.

Yeah same here, but I do remember in my younger days logging many miles of isolated road where highbeams were on more than lowbeams were.

I live up in the mountains, no street lights, etc.. I use my high beams a lot.
People hate me anyways because the back sags a bit so even my low beams go into peoples back window and blinds them from reflecting off the mirrors, at stoplights, etc.
Don't be the jerk with the highbeams on and the kc lights at night time.

Obviously, I don't run around with my highbeams on in the city.
I find this post a little hypocritical. Go adjust your headlights. There are 4 adjuster screws per light. You'll also find that your headlights are WAY more effective afterwards.
