Impressive as that may be something tells me the only thing TACOMA about that car is the sticker.
Looks like they need a better chassis guy cause that thing is all over the place under power.

but yeah...that this is barely recognizable as a Tacoma anymore. I thought maybe you made a bad and figured since it said "Tacoma" that it was a Tacoma...then I saw it's highly modified body..but still an apparent bed with a cover. ugly ugly...and it neeeeds better suspension. Its alll over the place.

It probably is light as heck so I don't think suspension would help, plus it's probably already equipped with the best available. There is only so much traction to be had with two tires splitting 1000hp.

From the smoke I'd guess it was a diesel, with turbo.

wow .. i must be getting old none of you know that vehicle?.... That's Rod Millen's Truck Held a record for the Pikes peak hill climb, or maybe still does, i don't keep up on that stuff. Its set up to run at high speeds on gravel, tarmac probably isn't going to be its best friend for traction.

http://www.rodmillen.com/racing/tacoma/specs.htm

I still miss the celica but the truck did do better times.

1000 hp doesn't do any good if you can't get it to the ground and control it. You could go to a local dealer and buy something, with less power, that would outperform that on a track.

Looks like a death machine.

Obviously it's getting to the ground since it's a Pike's Peak winner and is quite safe. You can take a spin in that very truck on Gran Turismo last seen on the PS2. (still waiting for the full blown PS3 version)

Millen still held the unlimited record at pikes peak which was set in '94 in an AWD Celica but was broken in '07 but this was done after a portion has been paved which shaved 3 minutes off of Millen's time.

It may look unstable but its not. These guys are obviously professionals and i'm sure know a tad bit more than you do. Learning how to keep the rear end stable is part of driving car like that

That's pretty cool! I know Toyota is involved with NASCAR, but why not NHRA?
