125 dollar carb now? 600 dollar exhaust later

well i found a weber 32/36 carb with the boxy k&n filter that i love. the guy ordered it from LCE. he will sell it for 125-150 bucks depending on if accepts my next offer.

im thinking i should do this before my exhaust just because its there. otherwise i would have to dish out 300 bucks for one.

from what ive read the power gains and fuel econ gains are fairly noticable.
also my aisin runs just fine. fired right up in the 20 degree weather we had here.

im just looking for thoughts and opinions on if its worth replacing the aisin for this price, or if i should do an exhaust first.

please hit me with your thoughts

It's a great carb, I'm not going to deny that at all. I ran one for years on an Isuzu 4cyl I built; bored, camed, milled head, port & polished intake, and almost wide-open exhaust, and it did me well. Really good design for fuel economy (even though that's not was I was going for) and power; you can REALLY feel it when you put the petal down and the secondary opens up.

But if the stocker's do'n fine, why replace it?

I mean, I guess it would be cool to have a spare, just in case...

only reason I put one on my Isuzu is because the stocker couldn't flow enough fuel after the cam, head work, and ehaust

well if i get noticable fuel economy and a little bit of a power gain. plus clearing up a bunch of hoses in the engine bay i figure it would probably be worh 125 bucks. btw the kit sells for 368.95 new on LCE.

thanks for the input

(oh and if the online calculator that i used is correct. using my emmision reports my carb is running very lean. i know thats a simple adjustment but i thought i would just throw it out there )

eh, true. I gutted all the emissions before hand, so I didn't have too many vaccum lines to deal with

yeah I bought mine brand new from Calmini for around $450

I had to have an adapter to bolt to the manifold though (came with the carb when I bought it), but I'm not sure if the same applies on the Toys, I would onlt imagine so; I'd check just to make sure, and then make sure you get the adapter too

ya i still have to pass emissions for a few years. but it would just be really nice to get rid of some hoses and the nasty black stocker filter assy and hose

oh and it does come with adapter.

Its a good deal, i wouldn`t pass it up. You can always do the exhaust later.
