97-up Toyota

Stupid question, The newer Tacomas, Runners, FJ Cruisers, and Tundra's, do they even have the option to come carburated? I don't think they do, but I could be wrong, considering I only have Pre-Taco's (Newest is a 93)

I think carb's were only possible on some 2wd trucks into the early 90's, and since then you can't even get them.

No. '88 was the last year for factory carbed engines in pick-ups and 4runners. I think Land Cruisers continued to use them until '90 or '91 in the U.S.

Absolutely not true.

I had an '89 pickup with a 22R (carbureted)

Not sure why you would want it instead of FI...

Yes, it was factory and 2WD. They were available in 4x4 in TRUCKS at least to '88, all 4Runners 85 and after were FI.

No. 4runners had either efi or carb until '88 as well.

and we were talking about two different things--2wd and 4wd. I didnt think to mention 2wd having carbs because I dont drive one.

Maybe, but EFI was standard equipment from 85 on in 4Runners, would be EXTREMELY rare to find a carb'd one.

That's why the '85 4Runner is so desirable - because they ALL have solid axles and EFI
