Has anyone done of any of the Beginner/Intermediate trails in Los Padres National Forest and is anybody interested in possibly doing a run some time next week?

Which trails are you looking at...?
I ran Lockwood/Miller jeep trail not too long ago...It was a very fun trail, Nothing terribly difficult until you got to the last mile of it...
Then its a pure rock garden, A locker would be necessary with at least one vehicle thats going...
heres my trail report..

Oh, And watch out for flying steering wheels, one of them broke my pinkie at the time..

Well, I'm looking for an easy trail because I'm kind of a newbie and I can't afford to break anything on my car because it's my DD. Here are some trails I found online:

And I'm gonna be in Santa Barbara next week, not SLO, so that's why I was looking down there.

West Camino Cielo
Try out West Camino Cielo just north of Santa Barbara/Goleta.
Type in "west camino cielo, santa barbara" into Google Maps. Take 154 north out of S.B. Then hook up with West Camino Cielo to the west. You can take that for 15-20 miles until it dead ends into Refugio Rd. Then either take Refugio north to Santa Ynez/Solvang or south back to 101.
West Camino Cielo is paved for the 1st several miles (going west). Then it turns into pretty easy dirt road for about half the time, then towards the end it gets a bit rocky. Any high clearance SUV can handle the road proper with 2WD. If its raining hard, maybe not...
The cool thing about the trail is that there are side jaunts that are moderately challenging for a novice like me. You can choose to do those or not. There are some iron gates and fences that, I'm assuming, the Forest Service put up to control damage to the environment. The whole trip should take 3-5 hours depending on how many of the side trips you do.
The raod goes along the ridge, so the city and ocean is visible much of the time to the south and Lake Cachuma to the north. Its really pretty when not foggy. I have not been up there since the GAP fire, but I think you may get good views of the burn area. It can get really windy since on the ridge.
I'd go with you but am busy throughout the Holidays...
Good Luck!

From: Los Osos, CA (we can't agree on crap!)
There are trails out by Pozo and trails out Hwy 166 by rockfront ranch. I go quite often but may not get to go again till after christmas. If the snow levels drop and we actually get rain on Monday and it continues into Tues(all depends on if it is bad enough that I can't work), I may hit up Sierra Madre rd off of 166 to get some snow, it ends at McPhereson peak which is above 5,000 ft.

Hey everyone, so I went up to West Camino Cielo today but the trail was closed. I guess most of the trails in the area are closed until October of next year because of the Gap fire.

There is the the river bed in paso if you can find a way in and theres usually motorcycle tracks off to the side which is fun. There are trails out in the town of pozo which is los padres and that will take you out to lopez lake theres some creek crossings and muddy trails if the gates are open. Try checking with the Poly Goats im sure they have all sorts of local trails. if you head to san miguel some of those roads that come off of highway 101 N. have some "cannot pass in wet weather" signs...and try the town of parkfield all they do out there is ride motorcycles and make trails and boggs.
