swapin a 22r for newer one(help!!)

so first i will admit i am a new yota owner (and damn proud) I bought my first rig yesterday and want to start it off with a well needed engine swap. I dont know if i want to upgrade to a v6 or stay with my 22r i already have. any suggestions or help with problems i may encounter during engine swaping. its being set up with parts from my old engine and will be plug and play for me either way. any help would be appreciated.

If you go with a v6 stay away from the 3.0 toyota , go for the 3.4 toyota better power , fuel mileage and aftermarket support.
Then there is the chevy 4.3 swap which can be done fairly easy as well and it's a chevy so you know aftermarket is full of parts for it.

Well, either toyota v6 that you go with (the 3.0 or the 3.4 ) are going to need new engine frame mounts welded to the frame and a different transmission.

Just making sure that you are aware of this.

Look at other threads on this board for whatever motor that you are wanting to swap in, 3.0, 3.4, 4.3, or whatever else comes to mind has been done and there are threads spelling out what they did.

Right and if you are doing a 4.3 you have to have new mount points welded or custom mounts. The 3.4 is a pretty sweet swap and if you treat em right they'll go forever. Look into some of the threads here and you'll get the basics.
