i've heard of this swap being done, but i'm not sure how it's done. what chevy truck do these springs come from? do i have to relocate my rear shackle hangers or do i move the front spring hangers farther forward? or both? do i use the entire spring pack or just the main spring? i've got 4 inch springs on the front now and homemade spring packs in the rear. what would i use to get me back to level or slightly higher in the rear? i'm working on a 91 shortbed with a sas up front if that helps anyone who can help me out here.

 

Did you even TRY to search? Been covered a million times - try searching on 63" Chevy ... you should find a link to Pirate4x4 that explains EVERYTHING.

We did it on Molly's rig, and it wasn't as cheap or as flexy as people had led me to believe, but that was converting over a coil sprung suspension to leaves. It needed a 1" or so block to level it out, and it's a pretty low SAS.

EDIT, Go to user CP, Click edit signature, Put what year and spec of your truck, it helps alot...

You put your truck under your signature line (like mine!) so when you post something we all know what generation, body style, engine, tranny is. Its easier for everyone. Just go to USER CP and click on SIGNATURE...

And the 63's are a good swap..cost me about 120 bucks for parts! did the labor myself! After you do it there are some different things your can do to them to make them perform to their full potential...like taking the spring clams off and replaceing them w/ the taller bolt syle. putting new telfon pads on and cleaning the rub surface. im going to put TG's creeper joints on soon and that should help too!!! ill do a thread on them later!
