trying to gain some power!

Need some help girls and boys. I have a 94 4Runner 4x2 3.0 V6. I am trying to gain some power. I was thinking headers, but noone makes them for the 4x2 or if you guys know where I can find them, please let me know. Also concern about the heat when using headers, I have been asking and the response has been mixed, some people say no some people say yes. Any feed back would be great. Also, thinking exhaust and K&N injection charger, but don't know much about it. Just rebuilt the engine and want to becareful with it.. Engine was expensive? Should I just go exhaust and K&N or should I do all 3 including headers? Thanks Everyone, you guys are great! Just want to gain as much power as possible while being safe about it..

ISR mod helped me, then adding "engine restorer" from an auto parts store helped get power back that ive lost over the years.
