The sad thing was I wasn't even wheeling it. I was driving over a small hill, and all of a sudden there was a little pothole. Flipped forward once and twice sideways.

COG looks a bit high (mine is) making it easy to flop. Looks like you could find a donor roof and just cut and weld, I see free 4Runner tops all the time on craigslist...

 

Sucks. Well pop that windsheild straighten stuff out and lesson learned.

 

Well I kicked out most of the roof. The windshield frame is perfectly straight. I changed plugs and drove it home just as well as I drove it here. It's all visual. My plans are to just get a new hardtop, new door passenger door, Windshield, and tube fender it. Everybody was safe, and 15 min. after I rolled, my buddy in his super clean Cherokee rolled, and I was in the vehicle as well. I'm sort of shell shocked still. Also my buddy rolled his super clean 1st gen. 4runner earlier that morning, twas a horrible day.

Glad everyone is OK! Shows how important it is to be wearing your seatbelt all the time - seems more people roll on "easy" stuff or approaches to obstacles rather than the obstacles themselves!

Went forward or sideways first? One of the biggest mistakes I see on the trail is people overusing the brakes - a lot of times, the best option is turn into the roll and nail the throttle and get the wheels back under the rig.

 

good (and bad) things seem to come in three's. glad to hear everyone is ok. tc, how many times does it take to get that instinctual response down pat! i understand your comment about braking, ive done that on more than one occasion. luckily, i remained upright.

like keeping your thumbs ON the steering wheel rim, i will work on 'turn into and heavy throttle' for the upcoming season.

Glad to see your alright man. i too rolled my truck comin across some black ice a little fast slid off the road and the back tire caught a pothole. you are lucky that your damage is pretty fixable mine was totaled beyond belief.
i'll try to find some pics that i can post up later

 

Not to hijack your thread but I had mine sideways the other day going to work. I tried everything I just couldn't get the rear end behind me again. It spun out and luckly stoped just after a pole.

Lesson learned...should've of bought a 2wd

 

Got tired of not being able to wheel my runner, and went to work. Straightened the windshield frame with a come a long, and a porta press. Got a bender, and went to work.
