Replaced and relocated transfercase cooler

After my axle swap I found the transfercase cooler in an odd location. I had to space it out away from the shackle on the passenger side. It worked ok....until I got the headers installed. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it....do I by-pass it, buy the Downey relocation kit, or blow up my truck???

Found a solution at Summit....frame mounted cooler! Now I am ready to wheel this desert season.

Before the headers...

New setup...

I'm not too sure how much efficiency your going to see out of that cooler with little to no air flow through the fins even with the vehicle at speed... just my .02

Yes, I just cut the hoses and clamped them. The t-case has very little pressure, so I am not worried a bit.

No airflow?? how can you say that? it is spaced away from the frame and probably will cool better than it did in the lame stock location. Plus it is way bigger than the stock cooler.

Nice Marc!

I put a round cooler behind my custom bumper. Mine is for the auto tranny.

Cheers,

David

Spaced from the frame is good and definitely the size upgrade, but having it perpendicular to the flow of air doesn't do much, the way David had his, is something to be considered.

I like the black and clean look.
