Either you lost the other 1 somewhere, and you just noticed it, OR you pissed some1 off and they took it off, hoping for you to get into an accident. EVERY Toyota I've ever seen has 2 shocks in the back.....

dammd you all... the truck rides fine on one side, and bounces on the other.
can't you all figure that out?
sorry, had to do it.
as you can see, everyone is saying you should have two shocks on the rear.

I've driven several trucks ranging from a 78 Hilux (when I was 16), an 81 Luv, several Chev's and a 2000 Ford F250 and I could tell when a rear shock wasn't working properly.
So saying one won't notice a difference in ride implies the driver doesn't know his truck, which may be the case, but I can feel the roll in a truck when it has a faulty shock.

i drove with one shock for a week untill 2 days ago, jumped the truck and it landed with one tire at full droop and crushed the bumpstop on one side and tore the shock completely in half. damn RS5000's arent cheap either. bottom line it seems to ride much better with 2 though

he means maybe your just more aware abe...
I had a shock bolt come off on the trail once.. drove the rest of the trail without it and drove home on the highway without it. Have a friend waiting to fix his rear lift and has jimmyrigged one shock in the rear to suffice till then.
It's not that bad really. and won't lead to an accident unless your a real moron
but you should have two =p
