99 stock ride height??
I have a 99 limited with 119k miles. I think its time for a shock / spring replacement. It tends to dive quite a bit under braking and is getting harsh even on small bumps. I'm not sure if I have the taller springs?? I have read that some 99's don't. Is there a way to tell by looking at the spring itself? I measured from the bottom of the fender flare to the ground and came up with 35.25" front and 35" rear. I have the stock 265/70/16 with 50% tread left. Do these measurements help to determine if I have the taller springs? When it comes time to replace the tires I plan to go with a 265/75/16 for a little more height. Will the standard/taller springs of the 99 clear the larger tires without rubbing? I would also like to get and inch or two of height out of some new springs? Any recommendations? Thanks.

there are color 'dabs" on the springs that will reveal if you have the tall 99s or not.
I have a set of "short 99 springs" right now in my garage so tell me the color codes you see and I can confirm against mine....

For you guys who run the ome springs...do you also use the ome shocks? I have read that springs / shocks were designed for the Prado and the shocks are actually to long. Is this true or not? I am really looking for a small amount of lift and a good shock / spring combo. I don't usually have a lot of gear in the back, but on occassion I do haul a dirt bike with a hitch hauler. With the current springs and the motorcycle loaded it looks like its ready for take off!!

If you want a solid pair of springs for the rear of your truck I would recomend the lightest of the OME. They will be night and day over the stock springs and get your truck to a barely higher than from the factory height. I would replace the shocks but only with stock size ones. New springs will usually out power old shocks and result in poor handling.

I run the Old Man Emu Nitro shocks with Old man Emu springs and no they are not too long....

springs should be pretty decent still.. the cheap way out would be a poly spring spacer kit, and deffinately new shocks... I did a spacer kit in the front and landcruiser springs in the rear with Bilsteins all 'round... rides great, i get great travel in each wheel and aside from the bilsteins ($450+) it was pretty cheap, the kit was like 100-150, and the springs i got at a local junkyard for $10
